MOL.2010.31.1
Information
Frankie Goes to Hollywood were one of the first bands to have a video game tie-in. Game players walk around ‘Mundanesville’ until they win enough points to enter the Pleasuredome.
Frankie Goes to Hollywood dominated the UK singles chart in the mid-1980s. Their first five singles were top five hits with Relax, Two Tribes and The Power of Love all reaching number one in 1983 and 1984. ‘Relax’ is the sixth bestselling single of all time. Although often remembered for ‘Relax’ being banned by the BBC and MTV, Frankie Goes to Hollywood won a prestigious Ivor Novello song writing award for ‘Two Tribe’s, a BRIT award and were nominated for a Grammy.
